Hackerdom humbly began as a computer Bulletin Board System (BBS) run on a Commodore 64 (with a whopping 64K---yes, that's *K*---of RAM, (2) 3.5" floppy drives (which back then, was a lot of storage), (1) 5.25" floppy and a lowly 300bps modem (currently, most people operate from 33600bps to 56000bps) and was based in Tempe, Arizona.

Hackerdom.net, the next evolution of the community, is now hosted on a webserver connected to a DS3 digital line that is capable of transmitting data at somewhere in the vicinity of 43,250,000bps---or approximately 150,000 times faster than the original 300bps connection (and all this improvement in about 20 years' time)!!!

Hackerdom.net is now based in Escondido, California. We are actively seeking partners in creating a web-based community of computer enthusiasts (from newbies to professors) that provides valuable content, a warm atmosphere and the opportunity for people the world over to interact with one another.
If you have any suggestions, questions, comments or are interested in becomming a partner, please send an email message to "elangenb@cox[dot]net". We would love to get your input, as it is *YOU*, the computer enthusiast, who gives us the motivation to do what we do!
